So much meaning pulled into a bedroom scene. So much meaning pulled into a bedroom scene. Truly, this scene is much more than physical intimacy. Pieces of their history are put in place. More importantly, trying to stay present prepares them for their future. That is how I read this. It does feel kind of odd to say that I feel like I'm sitting on top of a dresser in that room watching them finger the stairstep quilt as they talk, but that is where you work your writer's magic. I am invested in every line. Sentiments that are shared between the two characters and descriptions of surroundings, past and present, woo me into wondering how it will all end. They also beg me to stay in the moment. I knew the chapter was going to come to a close, but when I read "And he did." followed by the chapter 8 information, I was a little bit miffed. 😁 Enjoy the writing process, Suzanne.
